Do I need one unit per room?
For closed rooms, yes: a unit works within its own space, and a wall or a door blocks the UV light that draws insects in. For open-plan areas, one larger unit placed centrally usually covers the whole floor. Match the coverage figure to the area you actually want protected, not to the size of the whole home.
Can I use it on a balcony or outdoors?
AlShabah units are designed for indoor use and for covered outdoor areas that stay dry, a shaded balcony or a roofed majlis. They should not be exposed to rain or direct water.
Are they safe around children, pets and food?
Every AlShabah model works on UV-A light alone: no chemicals, no spray, no fragrance. Nothing is released into the air or onto surfaces. Mount the unit out of reach of small children, and for food preparation areas choose the Steel 7000 , its glue board captures insects intact rather than using an open grid.
