1. Is it safe to use around children and pets?
Yes. The kill grid is enclosed behind a protective outer cage that prevents fingers or paws from reaching it. There are no chemicals, no sprays, and no fumes — the device works using UV light and an electric grid only. For extra peace of mind, place the unit at least 1.5 metres above floor level and away from where children play.
2. Do I need to buy refills, cartridges, or replacement parts?
No. There is nothing to refill and nothing to replace regularly. No liquids, no cartridges, no glue boards, no chemicals. You empty the collection tray when it fills and wipe it clean. Running cost is only the 15W of electricity it uses.
3. How do I clean it, and how often?
Unplug the device first and let it sit for a minute. Slide out the built-in tray, empty it, and wipe it with a dry cloth. Use the brush to sweep any residue off the grid. Never use water or liquid cleaners on the grid or inside the unit. Once a week is enough in normal use; more often during peak insect season.
4. Which insects does it kill?
It targets flying insects mosquitoes, flies, moths, gnats, midges and similar. The 3600V grid handles all sizes of flying insect. It is not designed for crawling insects such as cockroaches or ants, which are not attracted to UV light.
5. Does the UV lamp need replacing?
The 15W black light lamp is the part that attracts insects, and like any UV lamp it loses strength gradually over time. Under normal use it stays effective for roughly 1500-2000 hours before attraction weakens noticeably. Replacement lamps are available from Al-Shabah UAE. Contact us on WhatsApp and we'll arrange one for your model. Replacing it is straightforward and does not affect your 3-year warranty.
